The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in a Feb. 28 memo to state survey agency directors, announced the updated Survey & Certification Emergency Preparedness Checklist – Recommended Tool for Effective Health Care Facility Planning.

The updated checklist, currently in effect for all healthcare facilities, provides detailed guidance about patient/resident tracking, supplies and collaboration.
