Quality and Efficiency Report


Developed by HRET exclusively for NJHA members, Quality and Efficiency Statistical Trends – Report of New Jersey Hospitals’ Process and Outcome Data (QUEST) is a biannual hospital performance data report that presents the most recent scores of New Jersey hospitals on a set of healthcare performance and quality measures. Data presented in this report is compiled from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Hospital Compare Web site and includes:

  • Process of care rates on acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care infections
  • Outcome of care rates on 30-day hospital readmissions and 30-day hospital mortality for acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and pneumonia
  • Patients’ experience of care scores on communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, cleanliness and quietness of hospital environment, overall hospital rating and willingness to recommend hospital to others

The report also includes aggregate rates on all process measures for each condition, as well as national, statewide and peer group benchmarks. This resource is available to NJHA members only.
